About

I am a realistic figure drawing artist. "The beauty of timeless " is my theme. Drawing figures, especially male figures, is my passion. My work focuses on an artistic male figure with old masters based and traditional Japanese painting techniques. Every figure I draw allows me to create a work of art that exhibits both beauty and timelessness. I devote much time to the study of artistic techniques and expressive capabilities. I carefully study old master portrait paintings on view in New York City. I meticulously examine these masterpieces, constantly evaluating how to incorporate my observations into my work best. I rigorously explored the fundamentals of art based on art anatomy and techniques used by graphite, charcoal and pastel. Before I came to NY, I was a still life painter. Flowers were my themes. I received my Ph.D in fine art and worked as a lecturer at K.S. University in Japan. I started focusing on male figures when I moved to NYC since I got a great shock for the gay culture. The gay culture in NYC inspires me to work with men. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them and to discover beauty in daily life and culture.
